Memorial Day

Great Memorial Day!
Jon and I just did some chores around the house on Monday morning, I finished my long time over due thank you cards for my baby shower. Jon painted the crib and the changing table. We had hot dogs and corn on the cob for lunch. After lunch I got a nice nap in. Later on Jon and I had fun playing Hangman together on the computer. We lazed around the whole afternoon playing that silly game, it was so much fun! Later we went to a mexican restaurant and I we ordered fried cheese cake with ice cream for desert. It was so yummy! We were still hooked at hangman, we played during dinner. It was a very relaxing Memorial Day!

Prenatal update

I haven't updated much about the coming baby and all that we are getting ready for. My midwife is so perfect for us. She is a Christian woman and has 6 children and also home schools them. I was really wanting a Christian midwife and the Lord answered my prayer!

Our latest visit was last wednesday and Patty told us that I look very healthy and the baby is in the proper position. She has been so good keeping me accountable with my nutrition intake and asking me if I am eating enough protein and veggies. I do have to say that I am sick of swallowing vitamins, I have to remind myself that this dear baby is going to be the healthiest and smartest baby. Every time we meet she is lending me books and videos so that I have my mind ready for what is to come. She is also sending me home with websites and articles. On Wednesday she sent us home with a blow up pool for water birth and told us what we need to keep on hand now that we are getting closer to the due date. Here is the list of items I will need for the delivery at home.
  1. Assurance pads - L or XL - to lay on
  2. Large plastic  pieces to cover bed/floor
  3. Maxi pads
  4. Lots of old bath towels, a few washcloths
  5. Paper towels
  6. Medium size bowl - for placenta
  7. Lots of Gatorade
  8. Nursing pads
  9. Thermometer for baby/mom
  10. Newborn disposable diapers - if wanted
  11. Baby wipes.

Exodus 1:15-20

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16"When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

GoodWill Bedspread

I got this creamy white bedspread at the GoodWill last week for $5.99 I have been wanting a white or Cream bedspread for awhile, my sister Elizabeth at A Sailing Journey made a post about decorating in black and white and I loved it.
I hoped Jon would like it. Before he got home I tried to make it more manly by adding some green to the room. I had some green pillows and a green candle. I really like the color combination. He liked the room, (I think he liked the price I got for the bed spread even better) I told him we can start adding the color green more in our room. I just need to find a picture to hang on the wall over the bed.

I rearranged my dresser and added more creams to it. The little tea pot my sister in law Himilce gave me for Christmas. It burns a tea candle in it. The vase I got at Michael's for 2 dollars.

Jodi's Bridal Shower

Jodi (What a wonderful Wold)is my dear friend who was stationed in Dayton just a little while after Jon and I moved. She was my roommate a couple of years ago. And she is someone who is like a sister to me. She joined the Air Force and was stationed in Germany for two years. She met her man there and is getting married June 20! Jodi and I have Thursday girls night! Every Thursday we meet and do projects together. One week we painted all her center pieces for her reception, another week I did her hair. Last Thursday we shopped at Joan's for material and wedding supplies. I have been so blessed to have her here with me. It feels like having family out here after all!
This last Saturday was Jodi's Bridal Shower. I had so much fun, I got to meet her family and friends.

It was a tea party!! Everyone got hats and dressed up!
Jodi's little nieces had to help her open all of her presents. They thought it was her Birthday!
Jodi's Sister Jayna, who put the shower on.

Julie and I had a cozy tea time together on this rainy Wednesday afternoon. She brought over these beautiful lilacs from her garden, which are filling the entire house with their gorgeous scent. They brighton up the house is such a lovely way!

Camping Pictures!

Jon and I went camping this last weekend and we took some fun pictures!
I love these. I had a hard time selecting the ones I wanted.

I look like I have a pot belly!
Jon made an amazing dinner! He cooked ribs with fish and pasta! It was so yummy!

A raccoon got into our food in the middle of the night and stole Jon's yummy dinner and my marshmallows!

House Update

Jon  and I are still waiting to hear back from the bank about our loan. We are so excited that it hurts to wait so long. We had a house inspection yesterday and there wasn't much the matter with it except that it is an old house that should need some repairs. We are excited to start on those repairs.

I haven't updated yet about my little Farmers Market venture, I submitted my application a couple of weeks ago and they called me and told me I was too similar to some other vendors already. I was so disappointed. I didn't notice anyone selling tea and scones the week I was there. I guess I can keep faxing my application every month so that the squeaky wheel gets the oil :)

Jon's 26th Birthday

Jon's Birthday was on Friday. We had so much fun celebrating.
I asked him what he wanted me to fix him for his Birthday (expecting something gourmet) he wanted hot dogs. Lol!

The day was perfect, rainy and fresh!
He really liked his pipe!!
He told me I was his true Birthday present :)

Baby Shower

Yesterday was the baby shower. Julie is such a kindred spirit. Oh my goodness I had so much fun! I loved everyone that was there. It was a mixture of young and old and I loved the combination. Amanda, Carol and Julie all live on my street. Carol Ferguson is my landlady, Benita is my realtor and Jodi my long time friend who just moved to Dayton from Germany. Katie and Carrie are friends I met through Julie.  The games where fun and the food was delicious. I received the cutest gifts.

Julie and I are here below. Julie not only threw this wonderful baby shower, but also made the party favors and delicious food and also made the ADORABLE cake
