Sickness

We have all been fighting sickness around here. We had been taking a bunch of vitamin C and all our other supplements but it still caught up to us. Even the cats are so sick. Bay and Tanya have not been their cheery selves for the last 3 days. I feel so bad because they can't breathe out of their noses and they sneeze themselves silly. They just sit on the couch all day or by the fireplace to keep warm.

GoodWill Shopping

I found this lamp and another identical to this at the GoodWill a couple of days ago. I love them so much. I put one in Jon's office and this one is above the mantle in the living room. I got them for 3.99 and 4.99 ( 4.99 is the larger of the two )

Emma

Masterpiece Theater has started a new series! Jane Austin's Emma. I haven't finished it yet so I can't tell how good it is, but so far its delightful :)

Motives Update

I have to post and update you all with how well Elizabeth and I are doing with our new motives business. So far we just started tutorials on Youtube (We have so much work ahead of us with that) You can find us by searching "Motivessisters" Second we are throwing a Motives "Makeup and Tea Time" at our home in two weeks. I will let you all know how that goes. We have been so busy this last week, it has been so exhilarating! More to come :)

Family Life

I found this great radio program form Katy's blog, I Stand in Him Complete talking about when is the right time to start disciplining your children from 0 to 2 years old. I know Zane is only four months old but it is addressing when the baby starts throwing food or starts wiggling off the changing table. I found so much wisdom coming from this broadcast and I wish anyone who listens will as well. Here is the link

Video Fun

This video Elizabeth took a couple of weeks ago. For some reason I have never published a video before. Oh by the way we got our internet up and running yesterday so I should be updating more frequently now. I told Jon having no internet was like having no electricity, So I guess it was kinda good for us to go without it for awhile and find other things to do around the house like maybe finishing my quilt I had started awhile back !

Jon's Office

Jon's office is almost done. Jon did all the painting and still wants to do a wainscoting look. The big hutch is still under construction. Jon stripped off all the paint and he still needs to sand it and then stain it. My favorite is the curtains. We bought a blanket at Ikea and then Jon cut it in two and made these curtains. He bought the brown material and hemmed them in. He used the extra material left over and covered the chair under the window. He is such an amazing guy. I just love him :) We still have more to finish, we don't have much pictures for the walls yet. I am keeping my eye open for a really great old world picture to come on sale for the big wall.

Benjamin and Elizabeth gave us their big flat screen TV but we don't know where to put it right now. We don't really watch TV much anymore. Just movies on occasions. But I would like to mount it on the wall if we can. So if we ever are able to afford cable I want the food net work to play like all the time !! Yeah, and maybe Fox News :)

More Baby pics

Right now I am enjoying a nice cup of decaf coffee and free internet at Panera. I have been away from the blogging world because we have been without internet for the last couple days. I'm not sure when we should be up and operating so you might have to stand by for awhile :(

This last weekend has been most delightful. Elizabeth left for Florida and is enjoying the beach as I speak, so not fair oh and of course Benjamin :)

Saturday Jon and I slept in and then we went garage sailing for probably the last time this year because of the cool weather. We also went to Hobby Lobby and got some bathroom hardware and decorations for 1/2 off, ( That was fun ) So we came home and put our bathroom together and I cleaned the house. later our friends Jodi and Bj invited us out to dinner and we had a blast with them eating vietnamese food and solving all the worlds problems :) afterwards they came back to our house and we had tea over pumpkin cookies. ( Its a good thing I cleaned the house earlier) It was a most delightful Saturday.

I'm not sure when I will get to read all my favorite blogs so I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Skirt for Changing Table

I found this material at Hobby Lobby in the sale rack for 3 dollars a yard. The lace was 1.50 for a roll. So I made a Skirt for my changing table. This space had a lot of clutter before because of all the stuff I had inside the changing table. Now it feels clean and organized. And I don't have to worry when company come over :)

Tuesday Afternoon Prayer

Every other Tuesday in the afternoon Eliza and I get to be a part of a small woman's prayer group. I love this time because we get to come together with 3 other girls and get to pray for each other and for what is going on in the world. We met two of the girls for the first time two weeks ago and they both were so kind and relative. I feel really blessed being surrounded by such good Godly women who set such a great example for me to follow. I can see that we all love the Lord, which makes me happy.

4 O'clock Tea

I was pondering how good God is to me. Here is a picture of my sister Elizabeth on Skype having tea with me not too long ago when she still lived in Phoenix Arizona. We tried to have tea time at least once a week. but now I get her every day. We have 4 O'clock tea and it is our reading time. We get all of our books out and start reading and discussing what we are reading. I'm reading a book called Mornings on Horseback by David McCullough. Its about Teddy Roosevelt' life. Elizabeth is reading a book by Celia Sandys, Wiston Churchill's granddaughter. The book is called, Churchill Wanted Dead Or Alive.

Enchanted Musical Forest Mobile

I got my Mobile in the mail today. I haven't set it up yet but I just adore it. It has a winder for the tunes to play and I love the little animals. I think I might enjoy this Mobile more than little Zane :) If you are looking for Nursery Furniture you can click on the link.
