Zane's Spunky Pup


Strydess has come to be such a big part of our family these last few months. She has almost completely gotten over her teenage puppy months which I am rejoicing over.
She is so polite with Zane.
He seems to laugh every time he sees her.
She has caught on how to make him laugh and Jon and I as well

Ginger Peach Tea and My Honey Man

This morning as I was pouring my hot water into my cup for my usual cup of tea at breakfast I turned away to get a tea bag and when I came back to my cup I found that there was already a tea bag in my cup. I thought to myself, "hmm I guess I already put a tea bag in" ( I know I know, I'm a ding dong) so I got my breakfast in hand and went to take a sip of my piping hot black tea but just before my lips touched the mug I found myself smelling the aroma of my favorite of all favorite Ginger Peach of Republic of Tea. I was shocked and astonished because I did not own one singlel bag of ginger peach, so I went ahead and tasted the divine drink and was excited that my senses had not fooled me. I immediately looked up at my Honey Man and found his face holding a shy grin, he had been the culprit. What a sweet heart.


Later this evening I wasn't feeling so good, as I was laying on the couch I opened my eyes to my honey man holding a tray over me that had a whole pot of tea and cream and sugar all done up in my very special china with my speacle tea cup and saucer. He then put on our all time favorite movie, Goodbye Mr. Chips. 
As I was just about to take a sip of my piping hot tea, my very sensitive prego nose smelled ginger peach again!!!!!! The little darling must have a special stash hidden somewhere where he keeps this expensive treat and only allows to surprise me with it once in awhile.
My Honey Man is the craziest, most adorable of all adorable men I know. And I love every bit of him.

Elizabeth's Zuppa Toscana


Tonight I finally made Elizabeth's version of Toscana soup which I LOVE! She made it for us the last time we visited and I couldn't get enough of it.
 So I got the recipe from her and boy was it so so so so yummy on my tummy! Jon had 2 1/2 bowls. I will have to get some more around 12:00 tonight when my tummy starts to get the pregnant etchings again.
We cleaned our bowls good and clean :)
The baby loves watching the Dick Van Dyke show with us. He almost loves it as much as he loves his Kipper the Dog show.
He claps with the audience LOL!
When the theme song comes on in the beginning and the end of the show he jumps up and down to the music :)



Eliza's Recipe

Ingredients:
1 Package of Smoked Beef Sausage
1 Package of Bacon
5-6 cubes of Chicken Bouillon 
2 cups of Heavy Whipping Cream * I used 2 1/2 - 3 cups of Half & Half 
because I was out of Cream
1/2 Onion diced and chopped
3-4 Large potatoes diced
1/2 bunch of Kale chopped

Directions:
Bring about 10 cups of water to boil, slice up potatoes and onion and add to boiling water, add chicken bouillon.
Cook bacon and sausage in separate pans, once cooked add to pot of soup, 
pour cream into pot and bring to a boil.
Serve with fresh cut  Kale.

VIsiting With SIS SOON


Jon and I have a trip planned for Florida coming up near the end of the month and I can't wait for this visit! Elizabeth and I have already planned on making scones, drinking gallons of tea, going to the beach, playing with makeup, taking fun pics together, cooking delicious meals, and and and and! Of course I can't wait to hold my little nephew in my arms! Jon and I will be fighting over him as usual. Zane is going to be so excited to see his cousin and Aunty and Uncle!

I have been trying to get a post in these last couple of days and I haven't been able to find the time.

 On Tuesday I went to my dear Jodi's house for a tea and dinner. I didn't know she was making me dinner and I was so excited when my nose smelled the aroma coming from her lovely kitchen. She made me roasted chicken, seasoned with rosemary, with asparagus and garlic bread. Oh my she completely nailed my prego cravings. We got to sit and just chat and catch up with each other. Later we had cups and cups of tea and delicious hot brownies. It was such delight in my week. She also got me a gorgeous Hydrangea! I love you sweet Joanna, thanks so much!!

The Young Victoria

Jon and I rented The Young Victoria last night from red box. I was excited but also a little worried the movie wouldn't be up to my high standing. I was very surprised that it was so lovely. Something I wouldn't mind owning myself. I don't want to hype it up for those of you who haven't seen it yet but I could easily watch it again and enjoy it just as much or perhaps even more. The acting was very good and I thought Prince Albert and young Victoria did a most excellent job. Writing this makes me want to watch it again LOL!

Chocolate Chip Cookies and Honey Man


  • Today I made these yummy chocolate almond cookies. 
  • I have been craving homemade cookies for some time now, yesterday my Honey Man cleaned out the refrigerator to the point that it shines and sparkles every time I open the door. he knew that my stomach can't quite handle cleaning it right now, what a dear he is. I have such a wonderful feeling now whenever I get hungry which is like every hour LOL! and instead of gaging when I open the door I search high and low for yummy food. And because of his kindness I got inspired to bake cookies.

  • *I didn't have chocolate chips so I used white chocolate chips instead and only used half the bag. And then I chopped up a cup of almonds and also chopped up a Chirardelli Intense Dark Midnight Reverie 86% Cacoa bar.

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 (12 ounce) package NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  • Directions  PREHEAT oven to 375 degrees F. COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

1st Year Pics

Today Jon and I got Zane's 1st year pictures finally done. 
We found the bench at a garage sale today. 

Of course we had to coax him into taking his pictures with crackers. 
He had passed his nap time and I was worried he would pup up a great fuss. He didn't seem to mind much.

14 Weeks Prenatal Visit


Today was a beautiful day. The weather was cool and dry which brought back warm memories of my childhood at 9 years old living on the 3R ranch in Colorado. I can remember my mom baking whole wheat bread that tasted of honey when you bite into it. I also remember trying to memorize my times tables so I could win the giant chocolate bar that was earned by completing so many problems under 5 minutes. I also remember Elizabeth and I playing in the pile of huge tractor tires behind the barn and how we created our house out of it and formed all kinds of rooms and such. Also remembering how we used sneak up and to climb on to the horses when they were in the corral when my dad was away and how we would hold on for dear life without having a saddle and bridal and how the horses used to try to scrape us off by riding so close to the fence that we would have to move our bodies over to the other side of their body so as not to get smashed.
 I know we were naughty girls Dad :)
*sigh* such happy memories. 

I could go on and on but I must stop and write the new memories I created today. First off I am happy to write that I finally got the kitchen floor clean lol, the cabinet doors washed and the back hallways cleared and cleaned. It seems ages since I have been able to feel the clean around my kitchen. The happy feeling of the house being cleaned sure did help my pregnancy hormones from raging. It has been such a frustrating couple of weeks when I can't seem to keep up with everything.
Well, anyways back to my happy cleaning, the reason being is I was expecting my fist prenatal visit from my Midwife Patty this afternoon, which I wanted to serve a nice cup of tea and something yummy to eat. I was planning on making a strawberry pie but ran out of time, So I compromised and went for the boxed brownie mix which happened to be the brand that is all natural. It tastes amazing and  also tastes like "real" food.
Patty came and we chatted over tea for over 4 hours lol! Such happy memories. We discussed all the new births that she delivered and I got all the juicy stories which are always so amazing. I just love how the Lord is with Patty. She is such a remarkable woman. Every birthing story she tells me I am always amazed and blessed to hear about. She has such a sense of humor also so we are always laughing and laughing during her visits. 
She did my check up, she said that my urine showed up great. My calcium looked good, my sugar levels were good, my pulse was a runners pulse which made me feel amazing because I haven't stepped outside at all for a walk or a run lol! I guess its that teething baby that keeps me on toes.
My blood pressure was really high which she was shocked about. She made me lay down and take a couple of minutes to relax and breath before she took it again to double check, which taking it the second time showed that it was ok. I guess cleaning the kitchen floor raises my blood pressure or something LOL! My iron was good as well. She told me to start taking some progesterone cream to help with the mood swings and also to help with the crying and such LOL. I think I will take her up on this. She also gave me a list of things I can be taking to help with the upset stomach and vomiting. She gave me some good web sites to visit, to encourage my healthy eating and prenatal care.

We got to listen to the precious heart beat and hear that it was healthy and strong. Jon got to record it :)

Patty's visit made me so excited about pregnancy and birth all over again. It was so fun and exciting to hear all the foods and nutrition that is so important. And it is also so fun to learn so much the second time around. I feel like I have a head start compared to the first time :) 


Little Zane recognized her right away and felt at home with her even though it at been about 5 months ago since he had last seen her. It was little Winston's birth I believe.

Sorry no tummy picture today. I do want to start getting those in soon. I just love seeing those of you who do keep us all updated on the size of you and the baby. So much fun.
