Sarah Morris Remembers

I have been searching in my bookcase for a good book. Feeling tired and sleepy this past week because of this bladder infection, (which is better by the way) has made me feel weak, depressed and guilty for not getting much done around the house. Nothing like a good book to take me out of my little world and transform me into an entirely different land.

I couldn't find anything I hadn't read so I started my favorite Sarah Morris Remembers. I have read this book I don't know how many times but it never fails to encourage and inspire me. After it was over I felt so much better and more able to look at the messy house and not feel depressed about it but strength to clean it. Now that I'm feeling better I can reward myself with another cozy book. Another look in the book shelf, another D.E. Stevenson to keep me happy, which I have only read once, The Tall Stranger. The first time I wasn't too impressed by it, reading it again I find it much better then what I remember. Happy reading to all you book worms out there :)

Julie and Amanda

Amanda is the sweetest neighbor who lives directly next door, she has been so generous since we moved in. She gave me this lovely white baby blanket and What To Expect The First Year book! She is also giving me her baby crib! I am so excited about this! I went over to her house today and had a peek! It was so nice chatting with her. I have come to really like and respect her!

Julie is my neighbor who lives two doors down. She bought me these beautiful sugar tongs to go with the rest of my silver tea set! I have been enjoying this little item way too much! If I haven't been drinking tea with them I will drink coffee instead :) I truly do love living next to the sweetest girls in OH!

Fire Fun!

John got the firewood on Sunday. We have been enjoying a WARM and cosy couple days in the living room! We are never in the living room because it is always so cold well, not any more! I hope our wood lasts for the cold months we have left!
John brought me home some beautiful chocolate tonight! I have been still fighting this nasty bladder infection. Chocolate sure does help a woman in need :)
I have my last Wilton class for course II tomorrow night. I will take some pictures of my flowers I have been making these last couple of weeks! Were going to place all of our flowers on our cake in the last class. I'll post the cake also. Next week I think I will be statring course III!

22 Weeks

Here is a picture at 22 weeks! Went to the doctor today and everything looks very well! Just fighting a bladder infection. It is starting to clear up! John is about to buy some firewood for us so we can have a little more heat in the house! We have been trying to stay away from turning the furnace on because our bill last month was atrocious. We bought some space heaters and having been doubling up on clothes :) Certainly looking forward to spring!

A Lovely Weekend!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post about Valentine's Day. I had the best of fun! Jonathan made me the best dinner, shrimp over noodles and cream sauce! We later played monopoly until very late into the night! We have been playing this game for the last week, just can't get enough of it :) John liked his card I made him. I had so much fun making it! Lots of love went into that silly little card :)

My Tea party was a smash! I loved all the ladies, we just talked and talked as we made our Valentine Cards! The time flew by and I'm sure we could have chatted more if we had more time!
I made a Red Velvet Cake for Saturday. It was very interesting. I completely flopped the first cake. My second one was alright. I think it looks good but I didn't care to much for the taste. I want to improve this cake later. The filling was a cream cheese frosting. I took the crumbs of the cake and sprinkled them all over it, which made it look very pinkish! My blueberry scones came out pretty good. I love having scones around the house. I can always eat them for breakfast :) I also made cucumber sandwiches for the party!

Valentine's Tea Party

I have invited 4 lady's of our little neighborhood over for a Valentine's Day tea party tomorrow. We are going to make Valentine's Day cards for our husbands! I think were going to have a lot of fun :)

I have been rearranging my furniture and trying to get the house to look pink and decorative.
I put little lights up and found some pink candles. I found my couch cover that my mom had given me a while ago but I had never tried it on our couch before. It looks more elegant with it on I think. I will post how the party comes out tomorrow!

Beautiful Weather

We have been enjoying such beautiful weather lately! I can't tell you how nice it is to step outside and not feel cold! The clouds have been spring time rain clouds which are so beautiful to me! I know that we are still in winter but I have so enjoyed this little refresh of summer wind, rain and sunshine :)

Wilton Course 1 Class 4

Sorry it took me forever to post the pictures of my last cake for Course 1
I am already in the second week of Course 2, it is really different than the first course because we are working with Royal icing and Color flow. I like Royal a lot more than the butter cream that we used in the first course. The only bummer about the Royal icing is that I have to make sure I don't get any grease or oil in it, thats really hard because all my tools I use for buttercream. I have to boil everything and make sure that nothing touches it. I had to buy new plastic containers also.

Smoky Mountain TN

John and I had a 5 day 4 night stay in the Smoky Mountains this last week! It was like a second Honey Moon for us! The place we stayed at was a resort slash water park! It was so much fun! We watched the food network all week and swam the rest of it!! I love that the water park was indoors! John loved that the water park had a really cool water slide that was almost too scary for me to go on! I still went and wow was it fun! Fun, but scary! It was nice to get a rest and just enjoy John for awhile! I think we really needed it :)

You can't see the mountains here but they sure were beautiful! This is the outside of our balcony!
