Sarah Morris Remembers

I have been searching in my bookcase for a good book. Feeling tired and sleepy this past week because of this bladder infection, (which is better by the way) has made me feel weak, depressed and guilty for not getting much done around the house. Nothing like a good book to take me out of my little world and transform me into an entirely different land.

I couldn't find anything I hadn't read so I started my favorite Sarah Morris Remembers. I have read this book I don't know how many times but it never fails to encourage and inspire me. After it was over I felt so much better and more able to look at the messy house and not feel depressed about it but strength to clean it. Now that I'm feeling better I can reward myself with another cozy book. Another look in the book shelf, another D.E. Stevenson to keep me happy, which I have only read once, The Tall Stranger. The first time I wasn't too impressed by it, reading it again I find it much better then what I remember. Happy reading to all you book worms out there :)

New Book

Elizabeth finished David McCullough's book on Truman and is letting me  borrow it. I am excited because I didn't want to rent it from the library because I would have to renew it for like a year! It took Elizabeth a year to read and I don't know how long it will take me. I loved reading John Adams by David McCullough and 1776 so I have been eager to begin this one! I got to hear David McCullough speak when I lived in Colorado last year! He was so wonderful! I was so  honored to hear him and to get his signature on one of my books!

The Book I'm Reading

I'm just about to finish my book, Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Arnim. It is a English book written in the 1930' about 4 women who take a holiday in Italy, in a castle for the month of April. During the month of April they start to change and become more alive. The four characters are all a little different and have their own problems. But being away from the craziness of London and life they become heavenly and they learn how to solve their problems. It sounds a little odd for a story but it is really interesting and funny!
I had seen the movie and I love it. They did a really good job with the movie, its just like the book. The movie is PG and if your like me I always enjoy a good English book or movie!

Finished :(

I finished my book. I read Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Long Winter. Himilce got me interested in Little House On the Prairie.
I miss the snow winters in Colorado, so it was cozy reading about Laura and her long winter. I know a lot of you are wishing for nice sunny weather like what we get in Scottsdale AZ. Today our high is going to be 81, but I would love to spend a couple of days in the snowy weather!!

Gentle House

I'm reading this book called Gentle House by Anna Perrott Rose, Himilce you remember this book?. It is a really sweet book. This is the second time I'm reading it and I'm getting so much more out of it. It is a true story about this woman who takes in a Russian orphan  boy during world war two. This boy has so many problems and emotional issues from the war.  I don't think anyone could have helped him but this woman.
It is a very funny book and very sweet. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in children. I'm going to miss it when I'm finished. Does anyone have any book recommendations for me?

Rebecca

At the great corwall estate of Manderly, Maxim de Winter and his frightened new wife try to live with the haunting legacy of Maxim's first wife, the beautiful and cold Rebecca, who died in a sailing accident. This English Mystery is very interesting and cozy! I at first wasn't too interested in it but page by page it captivated me. The new young wife of Maxim de Winter is really interesting how she falls in love with Maxim and comes home to his grand estate Manderly and faces a new and strange household. Of course the book is about the mystery behind Rebecca's death and if Maxim is still in love with his first wife. It is a very charming book and I highly recommend it!

Since I have finished this book I feel quite alone. I always feel this way after finishing a good book!!! I chose to read Moby Dick.  So far it is funny which surprises me because I never thought Moby Dick would be funny! I will update you with the outcome of this book as well! Happy reading to all you book worms!!
