Zane And His Piano

This little man has been discovering that his little fingers can make a tune.
He is just now reaching the keys of the piano
 if he stands just so.
He also likes to sing while he plays.
Certainly got that musical ear from his daddy.

Motives Monday/ Training

Well, last weekend I had the opportunity to drive up to Cleveland Ohio and get another Motives training under my belt!
The drive was so pretty
We got rain on the way home which I so enjoyed.
Baby in his car seat,
just waking up from his nap
My little work station and desk.
I loved that it had a little mirror and note pad for taking down notes.
The training was on Saturday from 9:00 to 7:00
When Jon came to pick me up it was raining out, Jon thought chinese food sounds good on a cold and wet day. The baby and I agreed!
some rules I learned:
"There is one rule with makeup,
 there are no rules".
"
"When using makeup always remember,
 no fixing just enhancing"

Sorry no tutorial or review today.
I am excited for next weeks tutorial though!
Learned so much over the weekend and excited to start practicing what I learned.

Tea with Julie, Lemon Lavender Cake

“There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea”
Strydess helping me set up tea.
Julie and I try to get together for tea if were lucky once every week. It is something we haven't stopped practicing ever since I lived next door.
This Weeks Menu:
Lemon Lavender Tea Cake
Fresh Strawberries
Hot Black Tea
Tea Cake Recipe
Lemon Lavender Tea Cake:
6 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup granulated sugar
4 egg yolks
1 1/4 cup cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
2 teaspoons finely grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract ( I didn't have )
* Because I didn't have lemon extract I used pure lavender oil ( 2 drops ) instead. If you don't have lavender oil you can use dried lavender leaves.

Heat oven to 350°. Butter and flour a 5x9x3-inch loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until light and lemon colored; blend thoroughly into creamed mixture.  Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to the first mixture, alternating with the milk. Beat well. Blend in the lemon zest and juice and the extracts. Spoon batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean and the cake pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 45 to 50 minutes. Cool in pan on rack for about 45 minutes; remove from pan and cool thoroughly. If desired, sift powdered sugar over the top.

I spy a baby in this post,
 do you spy a baby?

Green Apple Monday

Happy Monday Everyone!
Today's Monday tutorial is featuring Green Apple Shadow.
This shade is such fun.
So lets get started shall we?

To start out this look
1. I chose to use a shimmery sliver shade pearl to use right on my tear duct,
2. I used the Pink Gold which I brushed right beneath the eyebrow and brought down to my crease just right above the lid.
3. The green apple I used directly on the eye lid.
This was a fun color for me, I hope you all have fun trying out the avenues of green apple and what you can do with it.
Many Blessings in Christ

Zane In His Garden

Zane and I were able to escape the indoors this morning into the quietude of the garden which is trying to recover from its captor  (Strydess) who has dominated it for the last winter. I think we shall have victory over her and bring peace and prosperity back to our yard again!
Zane hung around awhile and enjoyed the fresh air. He loves swinging in his new swing.
Something new he has discovered, is watching the pup play fetch. He seems to enjoy this game tremendously.
Even Maxim was happy to come out and play with us, he didn't even mind to much when Strydess would chase him, he is now learning not to run from her, which kills the fun for Strydess.
Excited for the many upcoming months of summer.
I hope I can get the garden in a state of peace and tranquility before the summer heat sets in.
On the way home from coffee last night, Jonathan and I found two lovely wooden lounge chairs in a front yard that were going to be left for the trash. We salvaged them and brought them home and they are now lounging just beautifully out side as I write. They are so lovely. Even lovelier now because we got them for nothing:)
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Spring Tea Set

Tuesday I was able to go out antique shopping for my dear friend Jodi's birthday present.
Boy what fun did I have!
I was able to find this sweet tea set of 4 cups and saucers with four dissert plates and also a matching sugar bowl and creamer.
I also found a silver tea pot to finish the set.
Of course I couldn't give it to her without testing it out myself to be sure that it was good quality :)
It was a set that I wish to own myself.
I am hoping she will be inviting me over for tea real soon!
Happy Late Birthday Jodi!!

Little Winnie The Pooh

“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"”
* Winnie The Pooh

Remembering Christ

Easter Sunday was one of sickness for me. We were all too sick to go to church and remember our Lord and his resurrection. We were able to have a nice breakfast that Benjamin made for the sis and I. We had pancakes and eggs with orange juice and steaming hot tea.
Because we missed Sunday morning service we watched the Passion of the Christ that evening. Such an amazing movie for those of you who haven't watched this piece of art. I have watched this several times and each time I watch it it blesses me in so many ways all over again.
I loved these verses from this song In Christ I Stand as I think of Christ's resurrection on the 3rd day.

In Christ alone who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He came to save Till on that cross as Jesus died The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave He rose again And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death This is the power of Christ in me From life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny No power of hell, no scheme of man Can ever pluck me from His hand Till He returns or calls me home Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
Tonight I am so excited to be arriving home to my honey man.
I have missed him so much this last week.
Much Love
