Cold Sunday

I woke up to a some what sunny morning but when we came out of church something greeted us much more violent! The car windshield was already covered in snow! Besides the crazy weather outdoors our Sunday has been very warm and cozy! We made pizza and tried out our new power juicer we had found at the Good Will. It was brand new! It works amazingly! My lips are stained red from the beets I blended with the carrots and apple! I feel like I'm finally feeding this baby something good!!

Tonight Jonathan and I are going out with Julie and Lewis for a girls and boys night out! We met with their bible study group this morning and there is about 8 married couples in the class!  So tonight, Julie and I are meeting with the girls and watching a movie while the boys are going to hang out together!

I hope everyone is enjoying a great Sunday!!

Snow Days

The other day these two little boys knocked on our front door asking if they could shovel our drive way for 2 dollars! They were so cute and little. One of them had a missing front tooth and the other had freckles all over his adorable face! We couldn't resist tipping them an extra dollar!

Tea With Julie

Julie walked over for tea tonight! Her husband had a class and my husband was still working so we both had a night together! Oh what fun we had! I like her more every time I see her!
She brought me over two books that she recommended and I have started one already and it is very good, its called At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon. The other book is by L.M. Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables. We both are Green Gables and Jane Austin fans! I was so happy to hear that her favorite Pride and Prejudice movie was the A&E version.
We talked about kids, family and her life in the military! Our time went by so fast! I think we will be making our little tea a weekly custom!

Wilton Course 1 Class 3

We had cupcakes as our assignment for class three. I made very large cupcakes as you can see! We learned some new flowers and figures in this class. I felt like I got to practice more in the class which was very nice!

There is supposed to be 8 cupcakes but John and I got into one last night :) I have to figure out how to get rid of so much cake, I will bring some of these guys over to the other neighbor next to us whom I haven't met yet. I know they have children and I'm sure this would be an easy way to get so much cake off of my hands and an opportunity to meet them I will have to start sending cake to work with John, there is no way we can eat a cake a week!

Next week is my last class for Course 1. I will be starting Course 2 which I am very excited about!

Wonderful Weekend!

John and I had a wonderful 3 day weekend! We think we found our church! The pastor who spoke was very good and we felt at home right away!

We had so much fun on Saturday night with our new friends! We got there at 6:00 and we left at 10:00! The dinner was excellent! Julie made potato soup with amazing dinner rolls that were the same recipe from Red Lobster!

Julie has a bunny!! He was so cute! I would occasionally feel his little paws scratching at my jeans under the dinner table, he would bite at my jeans also! I thought he was so sweet, he got in to trouble for doing that but he won my heart!

Jonathan and I found some great deals the other day when we went shopping for clothes! Thanks Amber for your suggestion, we didn't go to Old Navy but I want to check it out!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! John got a day off on Monday, it was nice to have him around the house to help me with some of the left over unpacking. He made me a delicious dinner later that evening! Beautiful steak with amazing sauce over rice!

Oh yeah, I'm getting very excited for one of my very favorite holidays! I don't know why I love this holiday? I think its because it suggests spring and sunshine even when its cold outside!!

Dinner With The New Friends!!

Our neighbors invited us over for dinner tonight!! They live just 2 houses down from us. They are about our age which is fun! I will post how it turns out! John made his most delicious oreo strawberry cheese cake for dessert!! We are just about to run to the mall to shop for some new warm clothes for John! I want him to get some new jeans as well!! Hopefully we will find some bargains!!!

2nd Wilton Class for Course 1

My first cake came out alright. The class is two hours long and is jammed pack of information. We were required in the second class to bring a cake frosted and ready to decorate. The first class we learned all about the tools and products and what we needed. I had a lot of fun trying to find the cheapest price for colors or tools. Hobby Lobby gave us a 40% off coupon so we could buy a lot of our products there. I still need to buy stuff but I still feel the hole my money burned in my pocket for the products I had bought last week. This is certainly an expensive hobby but is definitely worth it!
The 2nd class we learned how to use a star tip and a round tip for dots and borders. We also learned how to write and how to make roses. The roses we rushed though because of lack of time. I practiced those when I got home. We decorated our cakes with the last 15 minutes of the class. My writing certainly needs improvement but its a start! I am so excited about this class! It has been so worth while! I really want to get certified in all 4 Wilton classes! Maybe my hobby will pay off in the future! :)

House Pictures

Here are some pictures of our  house here in Dayton! I tried getting these pictures with a low battery on my camera but I couldn't get any of the kitchen or the bathrooms .
This is the living room! I don't know if you can see the snow outside? It snows buckets here but it doesn't stick to the ground much. In Colorado when it would snow it would be in feet, here it just disappears! I love our neighborhood! Last week two of our neighbors brought us welcome gifts, cookies and fudge!! They were so nice and we all talked for about an hour and a half! God is so good to give us such nice neighbors!
This is the Dinning Room, it looks out the front porch. Right of the picture is the kitchen, sorry you can't see it.
This is the Master Bedroom. I love the window, you can't see it to well here but it gives the room excellent atmosphere!
Going in to the sub room you have to go through the Master. I love that room! My closet is in there and also the Master Bathroom.
That door in the mirror is the hallway door going out into the dinning room.
This window in the little sub/study is so nice because of all the light it brings to this room and our Master room! Can you see the snow? The houses are so adorable here! I can't get over it!
I should be posting my cake that I decorated last night! Stay tuned!!

The Mom Song

If you haven't seen this you should watch it! My mom had me look it up and it gave me a good laugh!! You probably want to go push pause on my playlist down below.

I'm back and just now starting to catch my breath! John and I made the three day trip and we are now snugly and cozy in our little house on Schuyler Drive! The unpacking has been the best part of the move so far! I will post some pictures when I get a chance to finish the house!

I just made an appointment for an OBGYN doctor, I feel like I have a lot of appointments to make up! The town is so adorable, the neighborhood is old and has an antique feeling to it! We are still getting used to the cold!!!!! Wow is it cold here! I have to say goodbye to all my sleeveless shirts and start shopping for sweaters and long sleeves! We got in on Saturday and we are starting to find our way around. I found a Hobby Lobby which thrilled me! I signed up for a Wilton Cake Decorating class! My first class was last Tuesday! I got the 1st session half off also!! Each course is 4 weeks and there is 4 courses, I want to take all four so I will be certified!
I can't wait to finally read and catch up on everyone's blogs!!
I hope you all are doing well and had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
