Date Night!

Jonathan and I got the keys to our new flat last night! We brought lemonade and pizza and some pillows from our couch and had a date night in our new empty flat! We first looked over the flat and made plans for all the furniture and space! Its a really nice 3 story town house! Our landlord is really nice as well! Then we ran and got the pizza and went to a small bakery purchased some yummies and came back and settle down on the living room floor and ate our pizza and watched our movie. The movie we watched was I Am Legend which made me cry twice. It really scared me though. It was really good! I was surprised! I loved the german Shepherd.
I am really excited about our flat! Thank you everyone for praying about it!

Hillsong United - Lord of Lords

Two Little Pigs

I think the hardest part of moving is the mess! We have paper all over the house and odds and ends that don't really have a spot any more and don't fit in a box. The kitties love the mess, they are all over the place! Jumping in and out of boxes sleeping on the paper. Just the bedroom to finish and we should be good to go. I can't wait to get out of this pig pin! If your wondering about if Jonathan and I are still looking for a place, we have one in mind and are waiting to hear if they will approve us. I will post the pictures of the apartment if we get it!

Pretty Home Made Necklace

My Grandma makes Jewelry and she gave this necklace to me for my birthday last year. Well, I started going through all my jewelry and I found a sweet little box with my sweet necklace that my grandma made! Now I wear it every day! I love it! Here it is below.
You can see the mess of our house while its being packed up.

Yummy Chocolate Cake

I made John Chocolate cake last night for fun! We needed a break from all the craziness going on around here, packing, cleaning etc. I was watching Sandra Lee the other day and I loved how she cut her cake and positioned it on the plate, she just cut it diagonally and placed it like you see I did above! I made a cream chocolate cheese frosting that turned  out wonderful! I invited Elizabeth and Cici over today for tea and cake! It was a beautiful rainy day for a tea party!!!

Cool Photos

I love the 30's Safari look!!

Rainy Day!!

Its a beautiful rainy day today! We never get rainy days like this in Phoenix at this time of year! Thank You Lord for this. You are so awesome!

Mrs. Mariu's Makes Tiramisu

Jonathan made dinner, I made the dessert! I loved Robin Miller's recipe for Tiramisu! It was really easy and very, very rich! The only thing that I changed in it was the ladyfingers, I couldn't find them anywhere so I used Vanilla Wafers instead, it was really yummy! I think I'll have it for breakfast in the morning!

ROBIN MILLER:    Food Network's Tiramisu

8 ounces regular or light cream cheese
2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whipped cream, divided
1 package ladyfingers
1/2 cup prepared espresso, strong coffee, or coffee-flavored liqueur
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Semisweet chocolate, grated, for garnish

In a medium mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Fold in 1 1/3 cups of whipped cream. Dunk ladyfingers in prepared coffee. Halve and place layer of ladyfingers in the bottom of 4 tall parfait glasses. Spoon half of cheese mixture over ladyfingers. Top with another layer of ladyfingers and remaining cheese mixture. Top with remaining ladyfingers. Spoon remaining whipped cream over top. Sift cocoa over whipped topping and garnish with grated semisweet chocolate

Sun Burnt Vacation!

Jonathan and I had a wonderful time down in Corpus Christi Texas!
We visited family and friends! The few days we were there flew by way too fast!

We got to go to Padre Island and swim!
The day we went was overcast and we worried the water would be cold. It was perfect! The waves were beautiful! We had a blast!
We came away exhausted and sun burnt! Jonathan was the smart one who put sun screen on, I thought, " its overcast  I don't need any sun screen and if the sun does come out a little  I could use it" Well, I said "we" came home sun burnt but all honesty "I" came home crispy like a red lobster! Jonathan got a little sun burnt. The sun did not come out but I sure got my tan!!
.... Jonathan, please don't say I told you so!

Road Trip

19 hours and still on the road!! Wow we are still traveling! We left our place yesterday at 4:30 a.m. and drove in to San Antonio last night ( 2 hours from Corpus Christie) at 11:20 p.m. (Phoenix time) 1:30 (Texas time) and decided to call it a night.  Poor John had been driving most of the time. We had movies, music and books which helped pass the time but we were still really exhausted, so were rested up and off again for Corpus! It sure does feel wonderful to be away and free from the rat race of city life!

Dearly Beloved:

WE THANK GOD FOR HIS MANIFOLD MERCIES AND LOVING KINDNESS.

I am led by the Holy Spirit to write a few words to you about God opening shut doors. Someone reading this letter will relate immediately to this, because you face one or more closed doors. There it is — right in your face — a door that seems to be continually locked. It could be a serious financial situation, and you've prayed for the door of some opportunity to open. Yet everything you try seems to fail; the doors simply do not open.

I don't know what your closed door may be, but for many it seems both the windows and doors of heaven are closed. The heavens seem as brass, and you can't seem to get through. This closed door I am speaking about is some issue, some situation, some need you've been praying much about. It may be a crisis that requires nothing less than a miracle. And you haven't yet received an answer to your fervent prayers and petitions to the Lord.

In Revelation 3, Christ referred to himself as HE THAT OPENS AND SHUTS DOORS (3:7). This was in a letter sent to the believers in ancient Philadelphia, a church the Lord complimented for having kept the word of his patience and never denying his name. Simply put, in their most trying times, these people stood faithfully on God's Word. They did not accuse the Lord of neglecting them or turning a deaf ear to their cries.

Evidently, Satan had come against them with lies. The synagogue of Satan can represent principalities and powers of darkness — lying spirits pouring out of the very bowels of hell, suggesting that God has shut every door, that he isn't worthy of worship and faith. But these believers, whom Jesus said were of little strength, kept on trusting, waiting patiently for God to put the key in the door and open it. He holds the key to the shut doors! He alone sets before us open doors.

Here is what the Lord promised them — and it is a promise that is ours as well:

“Because you have kept the word of my patience [you did not give up in your trial], I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” (3:10).

This hour of temptation is even now upon us. It holds incredible tests of faith so great and so fiery that many will fall into deadly unbelief. A great falling away from enduring faith is now upon the whole world.

But you — because you still trust his promises, and are willing to die in faith even if you do not see the promises fulfilled — you will be kept from this worldwide temptation to fall into unbelief. God has heard your cry! He knows the timing, the very hour to open all doors. So, never give up. Never doubt. Stand on his promises. He will not fail you.

In closing, a sincere thanks to all our friends who continue supporting our many ministries to the needy worldwide. God has been so faithful. Thanks for caring.

Love in Christ.

His bondservant,
DAVID WILKERSON

The Book I'm Reading

I'm just about to finish my book, Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Arnim. It is a English book written in the 1930' about 4 women who take a holiday in Italy, in a castle for the month of April. During the month of April they start to change and become more alive. The four characters are all a little different and have their own problems. But being away from the craziness of London and life they become heavenly and they learn how to solve their problems. It sounds a little odd for a story but it is really interesting and funny!
I had seen the movie and I love it. They did a really good job with the movie, its just like the book. The movie is PG and if your like me I always enjoy a good English book or movie!

A Big-Hooray!!!

John and I are making a trip to Corpus Christie Texas this week. Were heading out early Thursday morning. We want to visit the beach while were there! I can't wait to feel the sand under my feet and smell the salt water! I love the ocean. I just hope the water is warm enough!

New Dishes!

I was at Ross the other day and I found these beautiful dishes for $12.99 for a 16 piece setting! I got two settings!

Tonight's Outfit

I'm wearing this little sun dress tonight for Jonathan's Birthday party! I borrowed my sister Elizabeth's red shoes to seal the red color of the flowers in the dress!

Chocolate!!!!!

I found this huge bag of Chocolate Cadburry Eggs at Same's club the other day for $2.97!!

As you can see it is a 42 oz. Bag!! I love this chocolate and I can only find it at Easter season. I shall have enough to last me the whole year around!
I love to keep it stored in one of my tin canisters near my bed. It looks like a decoration but all the while it's storing my favorite chocolate!!

CupCakes For John's Birthday!

Jonathan's 25th Birthday!

I made carrot cupcakes for John's Birthday yesterday! John's brother Bobbie helped me. I'll post the recipes!
For the frosting I used sandwich bags to decorate with! I want to get professional decorating equipment some time in the future but this will work for now!
j
I was watching the Food Network and there was a commercial for Sandra Lee and she was decorating cupcakes and I saw what she did to decorate them using a tooth pick and dragging it from top to bottom of the different colored frosting!
Here is the Recipes for the cupcakes and for the Cream Cheese Frosting!

Carrot Cupcakes:
Ingredients
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 2 cups sugar
• 3 cups finely shredded carrots (a food processor is great for this)
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 4 large eggs
Carrot Cake Cupcakes Recipe Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans with paper liners if desired.
Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix at low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly while mixing. Mix at high speed for 3 minutes, scraping bowl every minute.
Pour batter into cupcake liners until they are 1/2 to 2/3 full.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes in pans then move to wire rack to cool completely.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.
