Half Price Book Store

I am so happy to write that have I discovered a Half Price book store in my area. I haven't been so happy and cozy in such awhile. Searching the shelves brings such a peace and also an excitement that reminds me of my childhood when Autumn would come and my mom and us first four kids would head off to the amazing book fair held every year at the community college in town. We would bring our lunches and arrive at 8:00 a.m. an hour early to pay the 5 dollar early bird fee to get a chance to look through the mounds of books before the crowd arrived. After a couple of years the early bird special was no difference then the regular hours.
I remember we would spend the whole day going through tables and tables of books, then start all over again and go through the boxes that were under the tables that wouldn't fit on top. On arriving home we would stack our books up in piles in the living room and just sit and go through all of our treasures we had found. The prices were so good we couldn't ever pass up a good children's book or an old classic. The book fair now is no more for some sad reason and now that I live in OH I try and find something that comes close to my book cravings in the fall season. Yes we do have book fairs here but their books are not nearly as good. So I was so delighted to find this yummy store. The prices are a big difference than my old childhood book fair but they have excellent books to go through with a wonderful clearance section that I check out every time I'm there.
So excited to find the Bradley Method book.
I also found some Living magazines for 50 cents.
It will be a whole lot easier to withstand the temptation of buying magazines at the store knowing that I can get them for 50 cents at the Half Price Bookstore.
I also got some children's books and I found this great book by Winston Churchill's daughter and it is just an assortment of personal letters from Winston and Clementine throughout the years. I am Excited to read this. I also have been reading Little House on the Prairie and I found the whole series but 2 for 50 cents a piece.
Happy reading to you all!!
Love Always

Morning Bread

What is the price of two sparrows--one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.
Matthew 10:29
“Count yourself most fortunate—happy indeed!—if people overlook you, take no notice of you, or treat you with little respect. For then you have the opportunity to seek only the respect of God Himself. If you make this a spiritual principle that guides your life, you will have no lack of honor in this life (at least in the eyes of truly spiritual people), and you will be honored when you finally step from this life into the next. Believe me when I tell you this!”
Theresa of Avila (1515-1582)

How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?  John 5:44 (ESV)

Just a little encouragement for me today. I love the scripture in Matthew. It is such a sweet reminder that our Heavenly father is watching and does truly see and care for us, when we feel so small and so overwhelmed by life's journey.
I wish everyone such a peaceful and lovely day:)

"I'll Miss You"

Well, I feel like I just said Goodbye to a very close friend. I don't feel like reading anything else after reading this book :( It was my "Mother's Day" present for my mom. When she finished reading it she brought it down for me to read when she last visited! I was glued to the pages the moment I opened the book! I haven't read all of D.E. Stevenson's books and I can now add this one to my favorite list!!

A Book Review

Vittoria Cottage by D.E. Stevenson. Written 1949 in England. A very charming relaxing book that has inspiration seeping through the pages! A story of a scottish woman with 3 almost grown children. Takes place after England (now finished with WW II) becomes a socialist country, also recovering from the war. She befriends a man who has lost all that he holds dear to him from the war and has taken refuge from his troubles and sorrow in a this small town in Scotland where he befriends the inhabitants who live in Vittoria Cottage. The story continues in the next series called Music In the Hills.
I loved reading Vittoria Cottage because it is not a silly romance novel like you find so easily today. It holds a foundation of real country life that is safe and interesting. For some reason the age in this particular time is very interesting and very inspiring to me. The values in these books are no where to bee seen now a days.

David Wilkerson Newsletter
Cover letter for February 26, 2007
Proceed to News Letter...

Dearly Beloved:

WE THANK GOD FOR HIS MANIFOLD MERCIES AND LOVING KINDNESS.

I am led by the Holy Spirit to write a few words to you about God opening shut doors. Someone reading this letter will relate immediately to this, because you face one or more closed doors. There it is — right in your face — a door that seems to be continually locked. It could be a serious financial situation, and you've prayed for the door of some opportunity to open. Yet everything you try seems to fail; the doors simply do not open.

I don't know what your closed door may be, but for many it seems both the windows and doors of heaven are closed. The heavens seem as brass, and you can't seem to get through. This closed door I am speaking about is some issue, some situation, some need you've been praying much about. It may be a crisis that requires nothing less than a miracle. And you haven't yet received an answer to your fervent prayers and petitions to the Lord.

In Revelation 3, Christ referred to himself as HE THAT OPENS AND SHUTS DOORS (3:7). This was in a letter sent to the believers in ancient Philadelphia, a church the Lord complimented for having kept the word of his patience and never denying his name. Simply put, in their most trying times, these people stood faithfully on God's Word. They did not accuse the Lord of neglecting them or turning a deaf ear to their cries.

Evidently, Satan had come against them with lies. The synagogue of Satan can represent principalities and powers of darkness — lying spirits pouring out of the very bowels of hell, suggesting that God has shut every door, that he isn't worthy of worship and faith. But these believers, whom Jesus said were of little strength, kept on trusting, waiting patiently for God to put the key in the door and open it. He holds the key to the shut doors! He alone sets before us open doors.

Here is what the Lord promised them — and it is a promise that is ours as well:

“Because you have kept the word of my patience [you did not give up in your trial], I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” (3:10).

This hour of temptation is even now upon us. It holds incredible tests of faith so great and so fiery that many will fall into deadly unbelief. A great falling away from enduring faith is now upon the whole world.

But you — because you still trust his promises, and are willing to die in faith even if you do not see the promises fulfilled — you will be kept from this worldwide temptation to fall into unbelief. God has heard your cry! He knows the timing, the very hour to open all doors. So, never give up. Never doubt. Stand on his promises. He will not fail you.

In closing, a sincere thanks to all our friends who continue supporting our many ministries to the needy worldwide. God has been so faithful. Thanks for caring.

Love in Christ.

His bondservant,
DAVID WILKERSON
