Yummy Bread Pudding

I made Nigella Lawson's Croissant pudding the other night! It was delicious. I didn't have any croissants so I just used bread. And yes, I made it for dinner!!

A Book Review

Vittoria Cottage by D.E. Stevenson. Written 1949 in England. A very charming relaxing book that has inspiration seeping through the pages! A story of a scottish woman with 3 almost grown children. Takes place after England (now finished with WW II) becomes a socialist country, also recovering from the war. She befriends a man who has lost all that he holds dear to him from the war and has taken refuge from his troubles and sorrow in a this small town in Scotland where he befriends the inhabitants who live in Vittoria Cottage. The story continues in the next series called Music In the Hills.
I loved reading Vittoria Cottage because it is not a silly romance novel like you find so easily today. It holds a foundation of real country life that is safe and interesting. For some reason the age in this particular time is very interesting and very inspiring to me. The values in these books are no where to bee seen now a days.

Movie Night!

Jonathan and I had our movie night the other night. We watched Audrey Hepburn and Carrie Grant in Charade. It was a good mystery! Jonathan is usually good at predicting movies and figuring out the mystery but he couldn't crack this case!

Tea and Cupcakes

My attempt to decorate cupcakes. I mastered the 2nd dozen after I flopped the first dozen! I served them with tea and coffee to Himilce and Elizabeth! Us three girls had so much fun catching up. Lately its been rare to find the three of us together at the same time. Usually we have to share each other.

Sam and Sisi

Amie and Elon

They all are so cute eating their cupcakes!

Thanks Elizabeth and Himilce for coming over and taste testing my little treats!

Martha's Morning Room

When Jonathan and
I went to Washington D.C. for our honeymoon last winter. We visited Mt. Vernon. While we were getting a tour of the house I loved hearing about Martha's Morning Room. It was a beautiful room. It looked like a parlor and a bedroom in one. She would have her breakfast in there and have her prayers. Ever since then I wanted a morning room and since we moved we had an extra room and Jonathan gave it to me! I have my desk and my little couch with the book case. Himilce supplied me with some curtains until I can afford my own!

Coffee!!!

Last week I was getting out our coffee maker from the cabinet and I broke the glass canister that holds the water. I was devastated. Jonathan ordered us a Gevalia coffee maker and we got it today! Right now I am enjoying my cherished  coffee that I have been without for a week!
( Such a Baby!) Thank you Sweet Jonathan!! I love you!

Missing Mom

I have been really homesick for my family in Colorado lately.  Especially my mom. I talk to her almost every day but it still is not the same as being together. When I still lived at home our favorite thing to do in the evening when dinner was over and all the dishes washed, was make a lovely tea with rice pudding or scones and get in my mom's bed upstairs  and watch Agatha Christie's Poirot. We watched every episode! So we had to start watching Agatha Christie's other TV series Miss Marple. We watched every one of those also! I miss those times. I know that time was a gift and I appreciate it all the more now! Besides watching TV we would always find our resting place together. We would have our coffee break together and end up talking for 2 hours. Or when we would have lunch if it was by ourselves we would talk a long time. Unintentionally of course. We usually talked about the Lord and it would bring up so many subjects in our lives. I remember I have always had happy memories with my mom, usually when my sister and I were young and we would climb up in her bed and she would read to us. We would read The Secrete Garden, Anne of Green Gables, Ramona Quimby, And a lot more.

Anyways, I just thought I would write about what has been on my mind.

New Necklace

My sister went home to Colorado to visit my family and and when she came back to Phoenix she brought back a necklace I had started to make with my Grandma but never finished. Well, my Grandma finished it for me and sent it back with my sister! You can see how beautiful it is! The beads are amazonite. I don't know what the white stones are but I can find out. I love my Grandma's jewelry!

I just talked to my grandma and she said the white beads are white jade.

Tonight: Relaxing with a Book

I have a really good book to read. 7:53 p.m. and I'm in my PJ's reading away! Dishes are done, nothing to do tonight, What relaxation! I'm reading D.E. Stevenson's Celia's House. I haven't read it in awhile so it seems almost like reading it for the first time. Himilce and I are going shopping tomorrow. I'm getting excited for that! Were going to go to the PV Mall! I haven't shopped at the mall in a while! I'll post if I find anything exciting and cheap!!

What a Clean Little Kitty

We gave our furry little friend a bath today and boy was she dirty! Poor little kitty! She didn't like it very much, but she behaved better around water than any cat I've seen before. She purred when we rubbed her down.  What a good Kitty!! She even let me carry her around the house like a baby. We gave her a name, Svetlana. That sounds royal I think!

Exposing Obama

I found this video and I thought " Its about time some one spoke out about Barrack Obama's faith in The Almighty!

Check out my Slide Show!

New Furry Friend

John and I went swimming tonight at the pool and we found this sweet lost Himalayan Persian cat. He, she? was so skinny when I picked it up and so dirty and so so sweet. We took it back to our place and it purred while it ate up the food we gave it really fast! Now it is getting to know the other curious family members, (kitties). I think we will post it for lost and found but I hope no one calls.

Friday Night Fun!

Nathan and Himilce came over Friday night for dinner!  We had a blast eating, talking, redecorating the walls with new pictures, rearranging the furniture. Himilce is a anterior decorator at heart! She refreshed my eye for house design!
The three boys and their computers! You can see Elon is being just like his daddy and his uncle Jonathan!

I served coffee in my tea pot and served it with my dessert!

Here is the recipe:
Take 1 package of Oreos and place them in a ziplock bag. Take you rolling pin and smash them all up till their like crumbs,
1 package cool whip, mix it with one small package of vanilla pudding, Take some frozen strawberry's and blend them in the blender with some lemon juice and 4 tablespoons of powder sugar. Take a spoon full of the frozen strawberry and place it on the bottom of your glass. Than add the custard and then the crumbled oreos. Repeat this process until you reach the top of the glass!  Enjoy!

"I Would Like Some Tea With Bread And Butter Please!"

Lizy brought the kids she nanny's for over today!
She has been with them for a year and half now. Compared to last summer, these kids are so good! She has transformed them!

They all share the same personalty traits and humor as she. They all made me laugh! Most of the time Lizy has to get after them and make them show good behavior while they are with me. She always looks like the bad guy but I can see how much they respect her. If she didn't get after them they would be little monsters! In turn, she disciplines them and then shows love and affirmation. She has been their mama!

Today we enjoyed a delightful bread and butter with tea! The kids had Lizy and me laughing with their cuteness. They put on their English accents while they drink their tea, even Cici who is 3 can pull a really good English accent!

This picture I took with my phone. I wish I got it on the main camera. I love their faces! Each one has a funny expression!!

Lazy Kitty

This cat is the happiest cat I know!

She loves her new home. I have never seen a more lazier cat! She is in every room looking just like this below!

Making our House a Home

Trying to make everything in the house flow today! I got almost all the books unpacked (which was a lot!) and the kitchen is finished! I fixed our first real dinner tonight! I love my new kitchen! There is so much cabinet space! I steamed cauliflower and mashed it up so it looked kinda like coleslaw and I added some butter and plain yogurt, salt and pepper. It was really yummy. Of course who did I copy? My husband. He gives me all his ideas! But when he ate it he acted like I came up with it! He is so sweet!

Elizabeth and Ruthie came over today! Ruthie gave Jonathan a hair cut! She did an excellent job! Us three girls had toast and tea up in my Morning Room and chatted for a good hour and a half! We needed it I think! Lizy told us about a new kids story series called Mr. Putter. She found them at the library and she told us every story she read! Ruthie and I laughed! It was a extremely delightful day! Tomorrow Master bedroom!!!
.

This picture is at my grandpa's. Its the only picture I have of Lizy and Ruthie together. Those are my grandpa's puppies.

New Home

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to make a post. I finally got some pictures taken of our new home. I only took some of the front and back of the townhouse and the living room and kitchen. The other rooms are still under construction if you get my hint? The above pictures are our front door and 2nd and  3rd floor

These two pictures above are the back where our garage is.

The living room and the kitchen.
Here is the little balcony looking out of the front entrance of the condos. The cats love it.

I will post some more pictures later when the Master bedroom is finished and my little "Morning Room" which I'm really excited about! These two rooms are on the 3rd floor.
