Prenatal update

I haven't updated much about the coming baby and all that we are getting ready for. My midwife is so perfect for us. She is a Christian woman and has 6 children and also home schools them. I was really wanting a Christian midwife and the Lord answered my prayer!

Our latest visit was last wednesday and Patty told us that I look very healthy and the baby is in the proper position. She has been so good keeping me accountable with my nutrition intake and asking me if I am eating enough protein and veggies. I do have to say that I am sick of swallowing vitamins, I have to remind myself that this dear baby is going to be the healthiest and smartest baby. Every time we meet she is lending me books and videos so that I have my mind ready for what is to come. She is also sending me home with websites and articles. On Wednesday she sent us home with a blow up pool for water birth and told us what we need to keep on hand now that we are getting closer to the due date. Here is the list of items I will need for the delivery at home.
  1. Assurance pads - L or XL - to lay on
  2. Large plastic  pieces to cover bed/floor
  3. Maxi pads
  4. Lots of old bath towels, a few washcloths
  5. Paper towels
  6. Medium size bowl - for placenta
  7. Lots of Gatorade
  8. Nursing pads
  9. Thermometer for baby/mom
  10. Newborn disposable diapers - if wanted
  11. Baby wipes.

Exodus 1:15-20

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16"When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

Thanks to you, I've really been thinking about how I want to do things in the future! I probably would have never considered all the options or been so informed!
