Jon's office is almost done. Jon did all the painting and still wants to do a wainscoting look. The big hutch is still under construction. Jon stripped off all the paint and he still needs to sand it and then stain it. My favorite is the curtains. We bought a blanket at Ikea and then Jon cut it in two and made these curtains. He bought the brown material and hemmed them in. He used the extra material left over and covered the chair under the window. He is such an amazing guy. I just love him :) We still have more to finish, we don't have much pictures for the walls yet. I am keeping my eye open for a really great old world picture to come on sale for the big wall.
Benjamin and Elizabeth gave us their big flat screen TV but we don't know where to put it right now. We don't really watch TV much anymore. Just movies on occasions. But I would like to mount it on the wall if we can. So if we ever are able to afford cable I want the food net work to play like all the time !! Yeah, and maybe Fox News :)
Thanks Elizabeth and Benjamin!!

Wow, it's looking so great, Marie! Jon has a lot of talent to be able to do all of that!
Everything looks so nice and neat! Our office (which we call our library) is THE hardest room in the house for me to keep neat. There's way too much stuff in it, and it's a constant source of frustration for me. So I'm slightly drooling over your beautiful, uncluttered, masculine room. :)
So nice Marie!! I have to say I'm in the same boat as Davene, but I'm getting a storage shed soon so I'm hoping that will help me get the office super organized!! Can't wait to see the hutch when it is finished!!
oh the office just looks wonderful!! I love everything, especially the old dark wood desk! He did a great job! And I agree with you food network is such comforting, cozy tv, it's like having your mom or grandma in the house cooking with you all the time :)
What a great room, Jon is doing it up so well. I love the ieda with the window covers and matching it to the chair. The Old world theme, that is was a "office" should look like!
Marie-it's so nice to get to know you and Jon from your blog. Everything is looking nice. Your tastes are very refreshing.
