I didn't make it to my last Wilton class last Tuesday, because of being ill. Later in the week I figured out how to do our finale cake which involved the basket weave. My cake probably could have been better if I had a teacher with me but I'll take what I can get!
And here they are on my cake!
It took me awhile to figure out the basket weave by myself, but I'm proud to say that my efforts were not in vain :)

It looks so pretty! I love the flowers. You made me really anxious to start course 2!!! :)
How pretty Marie. I don't know if you remember, but my wedding cake was basket weave. I always wondered, "how in the heck did they do that-- it must've took forever!" I think it gives cakes a little country charm.
Brilliant! I love it! One day you'll make the coolest cakes for your little ones! :)
the cake looks amazing!! i imagine that basketweave was quite a challenge if not at the very least time consuming - great job!!! the flowers are gorgeous and turned out wonderfully - i loved seeing all your cakes!! :)
Wow, it's so pretty and spring-y! Where are you and Elizabeth taking these Wilton classes through? I wonder if they have them in Richmond... I would love to learn the things y'all are learning!
Wow! You girlies make me want to take some cake classes.
Hi Meredith, I'm taking my class through Hobby Lobby, I'm not sure if they have that where you are? Elizabeth is taking hers at Joan's craft store. I'm sure whatever craft store you have near you should carry a class!! I'm not sure if you need classes Meredith! You are amazing already :)
