Zane Wesley Marius

Little Zane was born this morning at 2:47 a.m. He weighed 9.6 pounds and he is 21 inches long. Jon and are so delighted with this little bundle. He slept in between us for a couple of hours but I couldn't sleep having this new baby rest right beside me.
Jon was the best husband, he was so patient with me while I was in labor. I was in labor for 22 hours and hard labor for 6. I know I probably squeezed his hand off for four of those hours. My midwife Patty was a blessing from the Lord also, She coached me and encouraged me and helped me to remain calm. I still am shocked how loud I screamed, I thought that was just hollywood.

I spent about four hours in the kiddy pool and then I delivered on our bed. As soon as he came out Patty handed him over to me and he just rested on my belly. I was in shock for awhile having him inside of me and then there he was resting on my belly! God is so good!

CONGRATULATIONS Marie! What wonderful news. I am so delighted to read this! He is just precious-- and 9.6 lbs.! Wow! I just posted a comment on Facebook too so I think I'm repeating some things, but I am so happy for you, dear friend. :)

Praise the Lord. Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for his acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord."

Psalm 150

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so excited for you all!

Wow, Zane was a big little guy. :)

Isn't it just amazing? The whole thing: pregnancy and the child growing within, and then the birth and getting to meet the little one face to face for the first time--simply amazing. God is so good to let us participate in creation in this way.

I hope you get some good rest and enjoy these precious early days of Zane's life!

Congratulations!!! We are so excited for you and Jon. They are amazing gifts from God and they turn your world upside down. Each one does and it is amazing how God gives you the heart, wisdom and grace to handle each situation with His hand holding yours.

You look absolutely beautiful and Zane is such a little chunky monkey. Enjoy your little one, the time does fly, rest when you can, be patient with yourself and just love. Dust and cobwebs will always be, but your little one won't.

We love you!

Thank you for sharing that experience with your blogging friends. It inspires me to want to start a family of my own (now that we've been married for two weeks! hee hee). And way to go for having a home birth on your first try! woo hoo!
